the WALLFLOWER tiles are cut and shaped by hand
without the use of molds or cutters.
This gives each individual tile a unique shape and look:
a little rough around the edges, fully appreciating
the nature of clay as a natural material.
Available primarily by commission,
but ready-made sets are occasionally posted on this page.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
These tiles are sold in sets composed of tiles in a variety of shapes and sizes. Variation in thickness is an integral part of the WALLFLOWER tiles, resulting in a lively three-dimensional surface. Each set is unique and will not be replicated as a whole, but similar individual tiles may be reproduced.
The ready-made sets can also be used as the foundation for larger custom orders, i.e. if you are drawn towards the colours and aesthetic of a specific set, I will be happy to make more tiles with the same look.
Different types of glazes are used for the tiles, impacting their recommended usage. You will find information on this in the description of each set. All of the glazes used are lead-free, but some are not classified as food safe.
Glazed: The tile has a glaze that makes it glossy and easy to clean.
Unglazed: The tile has not been glazed at all, showcasing the natural texture of the clay. The surface is porous; suitable for a decorative piece but not ideal in
e.g. a kitchen due to a tendency to absorb moisture and stain easily.
Gold lustre: Striking details of genuine gold for decorative backsplashes or art installations. Not recommended for surfaces that experience extensive wear and tear, washing or scrubbing.
CUSTOM ORDERS
From larger projects such as accent walls and kitchen backsplashes to smaller sets for embellishing a piece of furniture or covering up slight imperfections, custom ordering allows you to choose specific characteristics for the tiles regarding the colour palette, thickness (consistent vs. varying), food safety and other such qualities.
You may already have a clear vision about the final design, or you can provide a general idea about what you’re looking for and I’ll make a draft based on that.

BURNT SUGAR: Deep reddish brown with light brown and yellow spotting
ANTIQUE COPPER: Brown and yellow with sheer layers of light green
CAST IRON: Black with light brown areas and hints of blue
CARAMEL: A rich, fudgy yellow with a beige undertone
PINE BARK: Satin brown with beige spotting
ANCIENT AMBER: A combination of rich shades of yellow, brown and orange
TROPICAL SUNSET: Bright orange with tiny spots of turquoise
